This weekend was seriously one of the best weekends I’ve ever had. I am now officially a CSULB graduate! All the hardwork, stress, sleepless nights, and overloads of homework were all worth that moment of happiness as I walked across that stage. Now begins another chapter of my life. I’m so excited to see what God has in store for me and what’s going to happen next. A very special Thank you to the queen in my life, Celia Rodriguez. Thank you for beings rock and always reminding me of what I was capable of. You constantly pushed me and encouraged me when I was so overwhelmed with stress. You always reminded me that I could do it and you never stopped believing in me. This was definitely for you mom! I also want to say Thank you to everyone who made this weekend so special for me, thank you all for always being there for me and supporting me throughout this journey. I honestly don’t think I would’ve made it through the toughest semesters without your encouraging words! This weekend has shown me that I am beyond blessed. Can’t wait to see what’s next :)
The day has finally come, graduation day! The day I’ve been counting down, the day that makes all those late nights studying and cramming all worth it, it’s finally here!
From when I walked into those preschool doors, I knew this was the ultimate goal my mom wanted for me. It is an honor to be walking across that stage and making my family and friends proud.
To the mother who always stood by me and supported me, thank you. Thank you for the late night coffee runs, for the countless pep talks and for always having your ATM ready for me when I’d run out of money due to the purchasing of textbooks. Thank you for always believing in me and pushing to my fullest potential. There were so many times throughout my college career where I wasn’t sure if I wanted to keep going or if school “was for me” but you were there to push me and convince me that it was all going to be worth it. You are my hero and will always be my biggest motivation to keep pursing my education. I love you!
Today, I walk that stage with a grateful heart and overjoyed smile on my face because that moment is what I’ll remember for the rest of my life. I’m so thankful because not many can say they graduated from a university and I have the privilege and blessing of being able to claim that statement. I am thankful for all the people that where there to support me and always had kind words for me when I felt like I couldn’t handle the stress.
The journey doesn’t end here for sure, there is still so many things I want to accomplish and wish to achieve. This is only another bridge I’m walking over to get to another side where bigger and better things are waiting for me.
These were definitely four amazing years I’ll always remember and I wouldn’t change them for anything in the world. In these four years I grew up, I changed, I realized so much. All these things contributed to who I am today.
The possibilities are endless but this is only the beginning…
"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream" - C.S Lewis
You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She’s not perfect - you aren’t either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break - her heart. So don’t hurt her, don’t change her, don’t analyze and don’t expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she’s not thereBob Marley (via zoella)
